I Can Do That!
Published in Paperback by Berkley Pub Group (September, 1997)
Author: Alice Potter
Average review score:

Inspiring and Practical!
Alice Potter has done it again! This book is filled with inspiring stories of everyday people who when faced with a challenge, or the attainment of a dream, said "I Can Do That!" This book lays out in clear, practical terms the ways to identify your dreams and then go for it! Being a fan of her first work,"The Positive Thinker", I couldn't wait to read this new one!!! This book is an absolute must for every success library, or just as a bedside or desk companion. The methods as laid out by Ms.Potter are workable, down-to-earth, and realistic. Far from any "pie in the sky" philosophy, this book shows you how to not only say "I can do that", but also "I did that!!" Read it and be inspired, I sure was! Definitely 5 stars..

Inside the Campaign Finance Debate: Arguments from the Court Battle over BCRA
Published in Paperback by The Brookings Institution (01 April, 2003)
Authors: Anthony Corrado, Thomas E. Mann, Daniel Ortiz, and Trevor Potter
Average review score:

As timely as it is a welcome addition
Collaboratively compiled and edited by Anthony Corrado (Professor of Government, Colby College), Thomas E. Mann (W. Averell Harriman Chair and Senior Fellow in Governance Studies at the Brookings Institution), and Trevor Potter (Nonresident Senior Fellow in Governance Studies at the Brookings Institute), Inside The Campaign Finance Battle is a fascinating collection of court testimony and the legal odyssey surrounding the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act, which was passed by Congress in 2002, and which was the first major revision of federal campaign finance law in a generation. The submitted testimony, once presented only to lawyers, political scientists, and others involved in the litigation, is now offered to all concerned readers looking to better understand how our government works and the struggles over how, or if the system is to be modified in the present and future. Inside The Campaign Finance Battle is very highly recommended -- and as timely as it is a welcome addition to Political Science Studies reference collections and reading lists.

A Child's Pleasure
The simple text and artwork were perfect to keep my daughter's attention as we read this together. The hard board is very sturdy for a toddler's grip. It has been a favorite of hers for over a year!

Jemima Puddle-Duck's Farmyard Friends (World of Peter Rabbit and Friends)
Published in Paperback by Frederick Warne & Co (February, 2000)
Authors: Beatrix Potter and Elizabeth Law
Average review score:

beautifully illustrated sticker book
On a recent trip we purchased quite a few sticker books for our toddler and I'd say this one had the most beautiful illustrations, though it was not the most exciting. Over 50 reusable stickers can be placed atop one one-page or seven two-page watercolor illustrations. While not the stuff for train and car fiends, it will delight little fans of the Peter Rabbit and Mr. Toad variety. You get a lot more stickers than in other books of this kind, and they are of high quality.

Better than my expectation
I had difficulty planning my database to achieve the reports I wanted and needed. This book not only breaks the planning process down into easily achievable information, but gives examples and a disk to practice on. I am very happy with the book and my results.I recommend this book to anyone who has a database with enormous amounts of data to plan for. It is easy to transfer the reading into practice right before your eyes. I can tell you my boss was completely impressed with my gained knowledge and ability working with the Access program. This book met and went blazingly past my epectations.I cannot recommend it enough.

Great Tutorial
This is a great tutorial for the beginner. I felt really comfortable with the pace of the material. The step-by-step instructions were accurate and easy to follow. I read the tutorial and worked through the exercises in a total of 2 days. As a result, I was able to create a brand new PowerPoint presentation for a client's meeting. My colleagues were impressed with my ability to deliver in a matter of days. This book is a life saver!

Letting Go of Shame
Published in Paperback by Hazelden Information Education (July, 1996)
Authors: Patricia Potter-Efron, Ronald T. Potter-Efron, and Patrica Potter-Efron
Average review score:

Practical Guide to Resolving Shame
Letting Go of Shame is an excellent self help guide. Each chapter ends with practical excercises. The material is presented in an orderly fasion, working through the issues one by one. The positive role that shame plays is covered, but the focal issue is toxic shame. It is easy for the reader to identify with symptomatic consequences of shame as each source of shame is presented. It is complementary to Bradshaw's classic book on the subject and in many ways is a simpler presentation for the novice. Complex and technical language is avoided. This is a practical self help guide for anyone dealing with the self inflicting pain caused by shame.
